WILDESCAPE_EU Project Partners Meet in Ireland to Plan Sustainable Tourism Activities
- Published in News
Partners of the European project WILDESCAPE_EU met in Virginia, Ireland, on June 11 and 12 for their second official meeting. Teams from Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Cyprus joined their Irish hosts to discuss progress and plan the next steps of the project.
On the first day, the group focused on Work Package 3 (WP3), which involves creating materials to support sustainable tourism. They shared updates on what has been done so far and coordinated their efforts moving forward. They also kicked off Work Package 4 (WP4), which will include a four-day training workshop in Portugal. The training will bring all partners together again to learn more about promoting tourism that respects nature and local communities.
The second day offered a more hands-on experience. The group visited a local sustainable farm, where they learned about eco-friendly farming practices. They also took part in a creative activity—making a piece of art using sheep wool sourced from the farm, showing how natural materials can be used in fun and sustainable ways.
The meeting was a great opportunity for the partners to work together, share ideas, and get inspired to continue promoting sustainable tourism across Europe.
